Having a guest speaker in class was a very different
experience. This was first time that I was listening to guest speaker in
classroom throughout the education journey. Erik Hanberg was a very wonderful
guest speaker. Erik main point in the presentation was about how he has used
the Internet to help contribute to his success. Erick have written more than 10 books and some
books are yet to be released. With the success of the Hartio Theater, Erik created
two other starts up businesses Exit133.com and Suite133. These
provide web-space and workspace for freelance web developers. Erik Hanberg
is an Author/publisher and is also currently a member of committee of Metro
Parks Board of Tacoma and also run a company Side X Side Creative, a
boutique-marketing firm for businesses and nonprofits.
Erik then told about how Internet has a huge role in his
life and how it opened new doors for him. The Internet has provided Eric a
platform to be a self-publishing author and how it helps him save money. Now
with online e-reader book selling, Erik books can be reached to grater audience
and it’s easy to find online publisher. I also liked when he used the quote
about working online “The amount of privacy you have right now might be the
most privacy that you will ever have”. Privacy
is going to decrease from day by day and being someone like Erik, it’s hard to
seek privacy. Overall it was very informative presentation an it showed me that
how hard work lead to success.
